Default bigblock olds 425 in a 3rd gen

has anyone ever put an olds motor in a 3rd gen befor? my gf has a 425 super rocket and she wants a 71 442 some day ..not happening anytime soonlol..i found a 89 camaro for 80 bucks and got it and i tossed the idea about the 425 in her camaro the other dayand i think shes gonna go for it..im gonna try and use the 700r4 with a adapter plate but like exhaust and mounts im little in the dark on..

I would be more worried about shock tower clearance and finding engine mounts. You can get a BOPC bell'd 200-R4 that should serve that engine just fine (so long as the trans has been rebuilt and that garbage GM friction materials have been replaced). This engine is longer and lots wider than a Chevy small block. I helped a friend stuff a 455 olds (same block) into an 84 Delta 88 and that was a tight squeeze for a car that big. You may be able to get away with the hood clearance if you have a Toranado intake and air cleaner, those are lower profile than the standard intakes and air cleaners.
