Default 91 RS shuts down, why??

I have a bone stock 91 rs convertible with a 305. Every time I go to start it, it turns over good. Fires up and then shuts right down. I disconnected the MAP sensor. Still shuts down. I'm getting fuel. Must be getting spark if it starts. Not even 5 secs of run time and it shuts down. HELP!!! Please!!!

No codes. There is gas getting to the throttle plates. It just starts and shuts right down, doesn't even gets a chance to idle. It's like some turns the key or fuel off.

i guess you could try pouring some gas in the tb to see if it runs for a while longer. not too much. or if you have a timing light hook it up an see if the spark stops suddenly. try and see if its a spark or fuel problem.

Have you checked out the VATS system? I am suspicious of it when you describe how your car just shuts down. This can be bypassed. I'm gonna have a good mechanic do it for my 92 RS. Mine seems to prefer only one key. The other set gives me problems similar to what you are experiencing.
