Exclamation 700r4 transmission

hello if i get a 700r4 tranny out of a pickup or a chevy blazer will it bolt up the same and fit my 1988 camaro or does it half to be out of a camaro/firebird fbody of that generation ?

I dont see why not v8 to v8 should but i think v6 and v8 wont bolt up but if your close to the east coast mainly like PA NJ DE i have a 700r4 that came out of a 91 v8 and has around 20k my buddy paid around 1500 and now its sitting in my garage i want nowhere near that much just trying to help

I'm not sure if the c/k series trucks 700r4s have the correct extension housing to mount the stock torque arm. If your donor trans doesn't have the mount then you'll either have to swap one from a 3rd gen or use an aftermarket torque arm and mounting kit.

IIRC you can use one from a pickup if you swap the tail cone over from your current transmission.

Don't quote me though.

it will bolt up to the engine, but i cant say about the rest. there are no torque arm provisions from the trucks, and they are typicly 4wd and have a different tail section to bolt up to a transfer case. if it was pulled from a 2wd, it might have a longer tail shaft. easiest way to do it to stick with one from an f-body

they will fit no prob, but as stated b4 u will have to change tail housing for the torque arm, also make sure the speedo drive still cable and not eletric. other than that itll fall right in. done it.
