Just bored at work. Remembering an old gm performance catalog called "GM Power catalog" from several years ago.
They had motor blueprints for the Cadillac Intreped IMSA GTP car.
4.00 inch bore and 3.20 inch stroke. small block turning 700 hp at somewhere around 11,000 rpm. And could run 24 hour races somewhat reliably. The engine had one one thousandinth bearing clearences. They had to circulate heated water through it to fire it.
Also, it was a normally asperated engine. no turbo or supercharger.
Remeber the old addage,
Speed costs money. How fast do you want to go?

NASCAR boys have been building 700 HP + small blocks for years and can go to 11000 RPM. THese make good race engins but not very friendly for everyday driving, also the 110 octane fuel can get pretty expensive.

Finally got a fresh book in. I'm amazed that they're still available.
I got two motors confused.
The big one is more than 740hp in a 6.5 litre small block.
The other is 620 hp in a 310 cubic inch small block.
The book also has an artical on how Hindrick Motor Sports preps blocks.
And also has factory blueprints for small and big block v8, and both 90 degree and 60 degree v6's.
Its a great refrence if you like building engines.
Any gm parts dept. can order it.
PN # 24502488 retails at $19.95
