4cyl iroc???
hi everyone
this is my first post on here. I am thinking of purchasing an 86 iroc with a 5.7 ( supposably corvette) motor. The car belongs to a relative of mine. The car is in excellent shape but has an issue with power. the car starts fine and seems to drive o.k but has no power ( its like a 4cylinder). It wont break the tires loose and takes forever to get up to like 120 kms ish.( thats as fast as i would go with it in that conditoion) The car was fine last year and wasnt really drove that hard. I was going to do a compression test to be sure there are no problems there. The car shows an engine light as well. Before i take it to a garage and possibly spend a fortune , i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions? maf...mas...o2 sensors...etc?????

also, check the fuel pressure. there is a fitting on the end of the fuel rail to plug the gauge into. i think it should be around 20 psi, but i may be wrong. also, check the air filter to make sure it isnt clogged.
