Default Stock cooling fan?

Hello, I am buying an '86 Camaro, and the owner says that the cooling fan in it is stock, but it has an electric cooling fan under the hood. It has a 173 cubic inch, 2.8 liter V6 engine. Was it originally a clutch driven fan? Thank you very much for any helpful answers.

No....Electric fans were standard and I can't recall a belt driven stock fan system on any 3rd gen car.

LOTS of 3rd gens had belt driven clutch fans. All 82-84 V8's had clutch fans (probably V6's too, but that I'm not positive of.)

For some reason I think my brother's old 87 Z28 with the LG4 had a clutch fan too, but that's been awhile.
