I have a 1990 Camaro RS with a new engine coil and a cpu. The probelm is that my car will lose RPM even if it is in drive. Today I let it sit for 20 mins in idle from 1500 and slowly drops to 1100 and then the engine stops. If I rev it to 2500 and try to keep it their(from reving it at 1100) it idles funny. What do I need to do? Is it the battery or is it the distributer or what?

 

i would check your voltage on your system while running, does it seem like it's under load when sitting there? try to unplug the Vehicle Speed Sensor, it is located at the tail end of the transmission and then fire it up again and see how it runs.
