Default my 94 idles at park and netrual WHY?!

these last couple of days my car idles around 1500 to 2000 rpm on park and netrual. the raditor is about 2 years old, the fan is on (it doesnt turn off), the water pump is 2 years old, theres no water leak external nor internal. should i flush the coolent? another thing the car heats up alot but not to the point of over heat if am not running the car at high speed. its been a while since ive had a problem like this and on this site. its nice to come back here.

Idle is controlled by the IAC valve. Loss of control could be due to a bad IAC valve, wiring problems between PCM & IAC, something keeping the throttle valve from fully closing at idle, air/vacuum leak allowing excessive air into the engine.

ok so replaced the IAC valve. strange thing that when i turned on the car it idle to 3000 rpm, i turned off the car after that. i then unhooked the battery for a few minutes then placed it back. i then turned on the car it reved high but then quickly idle to 900 rpm. so i was driving the other day when all of a sudden it started to idle high again in park. the real strange thing this time is that it idles up and down or would stay high then minutes later idle normally. could the PCM starting to act up. i doubt its a vacuum leak cause it was fine up until a day ago. then again the wire where the IAC is located is straching a bit maybe it could be that. dont know anymore.

did u reset the new iac before u put it in. if the mesurment from the base of the threads to the tip of the iac valve end is more than 28 mm then push it in a little. the shaft has ribs on it to let it move. u then put everything back together and when u start push the throttle down a little and let off when it starts. let idle for 5 seconds turn igntion off and let set for ten seconds, then restart and see if she idles good.

ok craby (nice name btw) i did what u wrote here but stillno change. I removed the battery again on tuesday and now its at an okay idle but starnge thing is that when im about to stop the car in drive the car rev really low, almost to the point that i feel the car is about to turn off. my theory before i posted this post is that the ecu is getting bad.

That would mean the computer threw an error code, fan turns on as a default. Is your SES light on?
Not to kick you in the nuts, but you do realize your car is a 4th gen, don't you. This is in the wrong section.

^^ i noticed the 3rd gen to but figured what the hay. 69 is right need to scann for codes after u run it for a while. when u unhook the battery it clears the codes. i see u have some jet stuff in the car. is there a add on to the prom. its a circut board looking thing in the ecu that plugs in between the prom and the ecu. may be worth it to take it out and see if thats what is messing with it. it is a computer board so no static electricity.
