Unhappy Intermittent Hard Start. No Acceleration when pressing gas pedal

I have a 1992 Camaro 3.1
I have a problem what sometimes the car just will not start. It will crank and crank until you can actually smell gas and then finally it will start up and run fine.

Other times while driving, if you press the gas pedal, there is virtually no acceleration.

Where should I start? Fuel pressure? Fuel pump?

Check fuel pressure and pressure regulator first, this will tell you if the pump is good or not, and if there are injectors leaking. Also check for restriction in exhaust system.
