1992 Camaros have a VAT system (vehicle anti theft) in the key and it is common for it to wear out. This would prevent you from starting the car.

 

The car was towed and after that it would not start. We tried to push start it too and when you try to throttle it, it doesn't go anywhere. So could it be when they came to tow it, it activated the VAT?

How would I turn off the VAT anyways?

 

dude i hate to say, (CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG GUYS!) but i heard that to reset or take out the vats or something to do with getting it running whenthe vats has a problem like this, you need to take it to a gm dealer and it cost a thousand bucks to get it taken care of. my friend had this problem, he swapped the motor and the thing never ran after that. the only way to start it was to hot wire the starter.

 

WHAT KIND OF FUSE DO I NEED FOR THE IGNITION .

 

WHEN I TRY TO JUMP START THE CAR IT DOESN'T TURN ON, AND NOW THE TOP WHERE I'VE BEEN TRYINGJUMP START IT I CAN'T CRANK IT FROM THERE NOMORE. WHAT WHEN WRONG NOW.
