Talking 83 Z28 Shifting Drag-Please Help

Hello again, I am currently starting my projects up with my Camaro and want some insight. While I shift from gear to gear I notice that sometimes there is a drag or even an abrupt jerk once the next gear is engaged.

I was told that this could be a loose clutch plate AND/OR due to a need of a tune up. Does this sound right? And what steps should I take to fix it?

NOTE: That I have an aftermarket edlebrock Carb on it(from previous owner)

It's a 5-Speed. Not sure if theres a specific type for that year. It's a z-28 if that helps narrow it down a bit

It could be any number of things from clutch alignment to input/throw out bearings, to bad transmission internals. Start with the basics and go from there.
