Default 1st to 4th shifting

Hey all. im brand new to this forum and a starting camaro enthusiast. im in the market for 93 and up z28, but i gotta know if what i've been hearing about this 1st-4th shifting is true about being in all the z28s, and if it is, how much if even possible it would cost to get it takin out. thanks a million

yes its true its called "skip shift" its basically for gas mileage. its easy to get rid of, its just some sort of plug called a skip shift eliminator, most aftermarket places carry it...jegs, classic industries, etc

Or you can go to Radio Shack and get a resistor for $.25 and be done with it. I forget what ohn you need but I bet a google search would give you the right answer.

Mine has been in for a couple of years, it is the same thing that the places sell, just without the fancy plug. Let me see if I can find the info on it. Go to install documents, then the transmission section look for a mod called !CAGS

it's actually not 1st to fourth it's 1st to 3rd u just tend to pull it in to 4th cause thats the motion. (skip shift. not skip shifts)

regardless, it skips 2nd gear, so getting the actual skip shift eliminator would be worth it for this guy
