my '87 trans am has a "performance suspension" emblem on the dash.. i cant find the RPO codes and im not taking my crpet out to find the build sheet (if its even there) how do i find out if my car has the ws6 suspension package on it?

 

jus gonna bump this incase anyone has any insight.. I still haven't found anything,, next step is to measure the sway bars and see if there what is suppose to be on the WS6

 

WS6 was available in 1987 as standard on Formula & GTA and option on the TA.
Emblem on passenger side dash.
16x8 wheels &245/50/16 gatorback GY (tires may be long gone)
Gas filled struts & shocks (Bilstiens/Delco) (also long gone)
Swaybars 33mm front & 24mm rear.
Fast ratio steering box. (may be some ID???)
Specific spring for weight of options on car. (who knows)

So the only items left to satisfy you are swaybars diameters.

At this point in time who cares. I am a original owner of 1987 Camaro Iroc-z. and I have replaced a lot of parts over the years with not much left of the original build.

 

For him though, if his is the WS6 and it was only an option on trans am's that will add some value to his car, depending on how many were optioned that year.

 

at this point I just want to build my car as a mild resto mod, I want a lot of original equipment there but with some upgrades and if my car s a ws6 car then ill just replace whats needed (and lower it) and call it good

 

You will have one original WS6 part, the Dash Emblem.

 

RPO decal and look for 'WS6'
Glovebox door or console door or drvr door jam.
