i have a 2000 v6 and i keep reading that if you have 3.42 gears, then you have the Y87 package. i have 3.42 gears, four wheel disc brakes, and sport suspension. i was wondering if anybody can tell me if i have the Y87 package?

 

I believe all later 4th gens had 4 wheel disc brakes. All that I'm aware the Y87 has is a dual outlet muffler and LSD. You can verify if you have the Y87 package by opening your driver's side door and checking out the RPO codes for Y87.

 

How do you know you have 3.42 gears is my question lol, and yea all f-bodies 98+ had four wheel disc breaks. That, and what is this "sport suspension" your talking about?

 

There is no sports suspension upgrade in the y87 package.

In 2000, many automatics were equipped with 3.42 gears with or without LSD

Like Banks said, find the codes. Y87 is an RPO code, it will be at the driver's side door, if not, then in your glove compartment
