Default Im back

Well I'm back.. The 350 started to gradually lose power and began to burn oil. Pulled the motor, sold all the parts, and bought this on craigslist for 500 bucks:

I think you know where I'm going with this… More to come very soon...

Pulled the trans first, then torn the 350 down to a short block and pulled it out.

The bay was then empty once again

The "new" motor is a 5.3 LM7 from a 2003 silverado. Has 87,000 miles on it. Needed all the accessories, intake, sensors and oil pan. My plans were new head gaskets, timing chain, oil pump, ls6 intake and 1999 ls1 .500 cam.

These were taken after the oil pump, pan, cam and timing cover were installed. Also gave it a nice black paint job:

I ended up finding an ls6 intake from another member, as well as a set of factory manifolds, and an ls1 cam, as well as ls1 clutch hydraulics. For all sensors, gaskets, and accessories, i took to rock auto. Next i started work on the car and trans.

Notched the k member for the ac compressor, and installed some UMI swap mounts:

Also picked up a set of UMI subframe connectors and welded them in as well:

Im still using the t56 trans i had from the small block, but i needed to swap an ls1 input shaft and front cover, as well as an ls1 bell housing. Picked them up online from hawks.

This was taken after they were swapped:

Also picked up some 2007 ctsv 4 piston brembo calipers. Gonna run them with 13.5 z51 corvette rotors, as the 14 inch cts rotors won't fit in my 17 inch wheels.\
