Default Windshield Fogging

Hey, I've got a 1992 rs, and for some reason, at night when i've been driving for about more than 10-15 minutes, the lower section of the windshield starts to fog up. My defroster doesn't work so the best I can do is put on the AC, but that doesnt clear it up, The colder it is outside and the more air I have coming in the car, outside air that is, windows down or t-tops off, the faster and more it fogs up. I've tried wiping it off and it just smears. I do smoke in the car but I clean the windshield with armorall wipes regularly. I know that the radiator had a leak in the it and that was fixed but I have noticed sometimes that when I turn the AC on I can see a fine smoke coming out of the vents and it smells like evaporated radiator fluid. I'm wondering if there is any way to fix this or if anyone has experienced this problem before. I know that when the radiator was replaced they mechanics got the wiring wrong for the AC panel so when the lever is set to a certain setting it may not be on that setting.

just from my experience with armor all, i used to work at a car wash, i dont use it on the windows. For that reson. I think its terrible, i live in a high hummidity area and windows i used that on would fog up something fierce. As for that fine mist, thats common on ALL A/C's with relatively fresh freon. So it may very well just be that you have a good A/C, is that air REALLY cold?

The air can be really cold, I'm not sure because I usually drive with my windows down all the time, but I would say its fairly cold. As for humidity, I live in colorado, so almost no humidity here. Whats a good window cleaner I can use?

Windex works fine with me, and do the whole interior with it. I found that Armorall leaves a greasy coating which attracts dirt, I hate the stuff. There are antifog products for windshels that work pretty good, but the best thing is to fix your defroster, or you won't be doing much driving come winter.

Turns out my heater core is shot. Thats why I was getting a smell of anti-freeze and that light mist when I used any AC or heating. 'bout 30$ to replace and 5-6 hours of work if I do it myself.

I tried that new ICE (Turtle wax) interior cleaner, doesn't leave a glossy shine (closer to matte finsih) and I really like it. Supposed to have anti-static properties.

The windshield will fog up when the glass is colder than the ambient air, if it is humid enough. You have two options:
1. heat the glass
2. remove humidity from the air near the glass (turn on the ac)

In my experience, dirty glass is more likely to fog up as well. I have no heater and I live in Houston, so driving on a humid night is hell, I know what you're going through.
