if your keeping your car below 200 i wouldnt even worry about making it cooler, throw in a second fan just for peice of mind on hot days and let her go, and change the coolant back, running 180-190 in our cars is actualy a pretty good level for them, i have a hard time keeping mine below 210.

o and to add to the t-stat convo, when u set in a lower temp t-stat the name is misleading, it wont lower your temp, what a lowe temp one does is it gives you a more consistant cooling rate, where a higher one will give u lower temp but it wont be as stable, meaning it will cool stop cool stop cool stop. thats why most vehicles come factory with atleast a 180.

I see its quite obvious here that thisforum contains people who have nothing better to do than criticize others, have a good day!!
Well I see you read that post. But I see the forum containing more people that don't read post clearly and make post that are just a repeat of others. I am the only one that criticizes.

When I put the serpintine belt kit on my 84 I used the biggest e fan I could fit inside the old shroud (I had to keep it. It held the radiator in) on a thermostat switch and two smaller pushers hooked up to the A/C. It stayed pretty cool. Around 190 in the heat with normal driving. The only bad time I had was with the a/c on in stop and stop traffic. (freaking looky looos' had to check out high school kids and thier graduation.) That one time it got hot with the a/c running the a/c had too high pressure and shut off.

thats the other thing, i will be in stop and go traffic in a black top hell hole, hopefully with the a/c fixed by then (clutch relay or switch on selector, and recharge). im bidding on a dual fan on ebay right now. i will try and modify my upper peice to hold them. it includes the bottom peice.

since i already have the fan hooked up to a switch, i will probably wire the new ones the same way. it would be easier than trying to find the old circuitry (which is butchered btw). i will probably run them on a single switch and a solenoid and have them both come on and off at the same time.

a solenoid is what i should use, right? so that way the switch doesnt carry the entire load.

oh, and beside the daily driving in 90+ degree heat, i would probably hit up the drag strip once a month

oh, report from today. stayed at 165 going to town, around 175 through town with the fan on. around 185 going between bank, gas station, and walmart. back down to 175 entering highway, up around 190 after 2 miles on highway around 70 mph, around 180 going to junkyard, around 185 back to highway. stayed around 190 on highway for another 2 miles. up to 210 after a sprint from a cop (he was eating lunch and i teased him), and stayed about 190 with the fan on for the next 2-3 miles going home.

Its a relay not solenoid. And those temps are not hot.
On a Ducati message board people are always complaining of running hot every summer. (Its the same complaint different message board ) Readers will say "its suposed to. With heat comes HP" What they never say is how hot. They have not figured out that to much is NOT a good thing.
Thats why I left those idiots and came here to all you guys!

relay? alrighty. i just kept thinking solenoid for some reason. dont they both do a similar thing? the switch doesnt carry the load but still turns it on.

about 6 miles on the highway, between 70 and 80 (2k on the tach), stayed around 190-200 in 75* weather. however, once i got off and turned the fan on, it didnt really get any lower than 190. i think its just the fan isnt capable of pulling enough cfm, which is why im going to go to a dual fan setup now.
