No Mike, I had to hold it in place with duct tape.....[8D]

Seriously, I think I mashed the edges a little when I tapped it in place. Im gonna try again tonight. Clean the hole with some sandpaper. A little RTV around the edges and pound her home with a socket....if it still leaks Im gong to attach a shaped demolitions charge to the gas tank...........
Hey I am not the one with every thing leaking on my car. I just thought if you were able to install the plug by lightly tapping on it with your multi pourpose open end adjustable wrench/hammer/prybar then you might have used a too small of plug.

No, the first time I installed it with a 2 lb sledge and socket but finished it with a punch around the edges. Thats probable where I screwed up. The second one I only used a socket that fit just right in the cup and pounded her home.

Funny you should say that about your car leaking so much. Mine is actually nicknamed "Leaky" When I brought her home she had:

Class III Oil leak from missing smog pump bolt in block, oil leak from the main pully and rear oil pan. Class III Power steering gearbox and pump, and a tranny leak that filled a drip pan DAILY!
