what's the difference

Default what's the difference

i have been looking for a new trans for my 92 rs and every catalog i look in has two 700r4s listed one says lock up and the other says non lock up .
so could somebody tell me the difference betwen the two and which one i need

btw it has a mildly built 350 in it

The lock-up type would be for a street driven car where 4th would lock up in OD and improve gas milage & reduce heat.

The non-lock up would be more for racing, street driven it would increase heat in the tranny and reduce gas mieage.,

Short explaination, I would go with the lock -up 700R4 for a dail driver.
