is there a difference?
My transmission is going out so im going to swap both the engine and transmission. I currently have a 305 tpi witha 700r4. Im not changing the tranny so i dont need help there. Im swapping to an 88 350 tpi. I have everything for it including the ecm, prom, and everything else. But i already have the tpi wirng harness in my car so i was wondering if i could just plug the ecm and the prom into my wiring harness and everything hook up on the 350. Would that happen? Also would a set of 305 H.O. heads do any good on a 350? Thanks for any help or opinions.

RE: is there a difference?
like madmike said, the 305 heads will bump up your compression, but they stop flowing @ about 4200rpm. the knock senor is different , but i suggest putting a knock sensor for a LT4 Corvette in it instead of a stock one. the LT4 knock sensor will allow the engine to run a bit more timing (only a degree or two) but somettimes it's enough to make a difference in the way the car runs .the ESC is the same , same part # for 5.0 and 5.7. so as long as you get the prom chip , injectors , and knock sensor for a 5.7...you should be ready yank and drop.
