Default TPI swap

Hey guys i was considering switching my tbi to tpi. I can get a used tpi system from a friend that includes everything (upper, lower intake, injectors, fuel rails, wiring harness, computer, etc) for $250. I think thats a pretty good deal, esp. for about 20 horsepower. Well my question is how differicult is this swap going to be. I can do all the easy bolt up stuff, but what about the other stuff; and what will i have to do? Thanks.

aside from the obvious mechanical stuff. Drop the tank and change the fuel pump. distributor, dont forgot about that.

if you dont buy it, let me know and i will if he will sell it for that amount to me as well!!

well for the obvious reason of needed a higher pressure fuel pump, why would i need a new distributer?

I've been reading up and I understand this tpi swap is a lot of work. What if instead I switched to a carb. setup. I understand I would need a carb. intake, carb., air cleaner, and a noncomputer controlled distributer, and better fuel pump; is that all i'd need? Also what would I do about the existing computer, would I just pull it out? And would this be a sensible swap, because I plan on heads and cam, and with my existing tbi the heads and cam really wouldnt give me good results? Can expect any extra horsepower from this swap? Thanks guys, just tryin to figure things out.

maybe a small horse gain, but unless you know how to dial in a carb, its a lot of hassle. i too was thinking of it and had a sweet setup lined up. costs a little over a grand to get it all i think. 1400 or so i think. you wouldnt need a better fuel pump, but a pressure regulator i believe. I was told the computer can be pulled if you do ineed go carb. so your not goin TPI anymore huh?
