Thinking about buying an 84 Camaro
Hi all...
I was hoping to get some advice. Ive always wanted a camaro. Im not in the place to start a big project yet.. but yesturday I past a red 1984 for sale. Im about to go look at it and take it for a drive now.. It looks to be in perfect physical condition.. no rust or peeling paint. T-Tops seem to be tight..
Im somewhat literate when it comes to these cars.. although Im mostly a Jeep and Harley guy.. lol..
Anyways.. I was disheartened when I called the guy this morning and found out its a 6 cylendar.
Im not to familiar with the 6's.. and truth be toild if I want to buy a second car to play around with over the summer.. I kind of want a real toy..
Ive decided to look at it anyway.. The guy wants 1500 for it and it does have a cracked windsheild. Other than that its in great shape it seems..
How hard/easy is it to convert these cars? meaning would it be a smart idea to buy it for the body and just to drive around and have until the time comes that I have the money and time to drop a 305 in and do some work to it?
I know the 6 probablys isnt as fun to drive but does anyone have any thoughts on this?

I think you would be better off waiting till you find a v8 car. Check Craiglist and ebay, tons of them out there. Try and find one that is still stock, nothing done to it, cause at least you wont have to try and fix problems caused by last owner trying to modify car.

+1 on the above post. You are way better off finding a v8 car that has everything you'll need (v8 won't mount to the v6 trans....etc etc etc) these can be had for the same price. 2 more things, you mentioned dropping in a 305, I hope you meant 350, and before you even think about motor swapping, check your emission laws of your state/county. They will have the biggest influence over what you can or cannot do. even if you don't have them....they are coming.
