i have a 91 camaro RS with the TB 5.0 and it wont run so i want to throw a carburated 350 in there. now i was wondering if i could just disconnect power from the in tank fuel pump and the lines that are in the engine bay just run those to the mechanical fuel pump on the 350 and then use it like that. will that work?

ive thought about that myself. but the conclusion i come to is the fuel pump thats in the tank will screw things up. I dont THINK it will work. it very well may, but from what im drawing in my mind, it wont work

well i dont understand how it would screw things up. i mean when i disconnect the power to it the float will still work so the gas gauge will be good and it would act as a sending unit that the mechanical pump off the motor just sucks the gas through the tubes.

yea maybe it wont, i have no real idea. Just a thought. Im not entirely sure on how the pump goes about getting the fuel through the lines. Vacume? "propellers"? I dont know. But let me explain the reasoning behind my thought...
if it creates the lift via "propellers", then when that isnt running, they are gona get in the way and either completely stop flow, or severely reduce it makeing your engine starve.
again, this is just a thought and i have no proof of how it will work. It may work just fine.
but food for thought, you could just get a regulator for the pressure...
