I'm looking to upgrade my suspension ie: shocks/strutssprings and such. What do you guys recommend/have used? I'm not looking to lower the car since I have pretty wide tires on the rear (275 50 15)and I don't want them to rub. She's an 85 z28 and I'm looking to replace the 305to a 350 so any recommendations would be great.

 

You should already have real good springs on a Z28. I use KYBs' on my car. I like them and they are not expensive. Fock those monroe and gabriel ****z.
You could also do new bushings and ball joints if you have not already.
I did the whole thing on my 84. Ball joints, steering linkages with hotchkis sleeves, poly graphite bushings, kybs' all around, hotchkis rear control arms and pan hard rod.
The rear contorl arms are not bad but the poly graphite bushings in the front gave no deflection and with the high performance tires I had no bounce in the front! It stuck to the ground like a nascar, hung corners like you would not believe. But when you hit a pot hole there was nothing to give and it would make the car jump to one side.

 

i like the KYB's , but i've also had great luck with Koni's. make sure all the factory suspention components are in good shape, swap the struts and struts , the add the poly bushings, get some some good sway bars , LCA's , and a strut tower brace.....that will have it hugging the ground pretty good...but if you want rear handling you need to get some good springs (Eibach) and some 17" wheels with a quality Z rated tire
