struts
time to replace the struts on the grand am. This is not a tech question so much as an opinion. I can get the delco struts for 108 a pop. OR i can get some from summit for 67 that are KYB. Ive never read anything on those though and wonder if they are any good. I will probably only have the car a few more years, months if things go right, which they wont..
Obviously the delco are good since they have gotten that car 100+k so far and are still working, just makin a lot of racket. Ill do the mounts and the struts, but probably leave the springs if they are ok. Ill have a look before i make that call because springs are just another chunk of change for this POS that i have..
Anybody know anything about these KYBs? If i cant find anything good about them ill probably go with the delcos simply because its a fair amount of work to do this.

KYB GR-2 are a performance strut that has a firm setting & ride, they are middle of the pack in this order: Bilstien, Koni, Tokico & KYB and then the rest of the normal stock replacements (including the overpriced Delco). I went with the front KYB GR-2 struts & KYB Gas-adjust rear shocks ( the cost of the Bilstiens was out of sight). Been over a month this the install and I am happy with them, they have about the same firmness as my old stock Bilstiens. As I said they are firm and if you want a softer ride go with another brand. Additional note: I also purchased KYBs from Sumitt because Tirerack was out of stock (tirerack is cheaper).
