my speedo doesnt work untill the car is warmed up to 220 degrees whould that be a sensor or the gears inside the trans?

 

the temp shouldnt be relevant, although that is rather hot. the vss is probably shorted inside or has a broken coil, and the heat makes it expand just enough to work. check the wiring and the connector of the sensor on the rear of the trans. if that looks ok, replace the vehicle speed sensor
