Default slow response time

Does anyone have any suggestions to remedy the slow response time i have when I hit the throttle. I have a 84 z-28--it has the 305, I am looking for a 350, but for the time being i am getting by w/ the 305. I have changed spark plugs, wires and air breather. Thanks

i would start by just checking the timing. could have somehow gottentoo retarded. either that or it could be a problem with your carburetor...maybe the accelerator pump is not properly adjusted. maybe even secondary ignition is going bad...haha id start with timing though...

I bet your stock timing chain is well past whooped. But your carb may also need a little adjusting for the off idle response.

And Scott.
I had a 2.77 in my 84 Z28. The fact is I put it in there.
But I also tweaked a little on my car so it did not have bad off idle response.

Thanks about timing, i will look into that,
What about the choke light?--It will periodically come on and beep. When I hit the gas it goes out, or, if I apply the brake it will go out. By go out I mean the light turns off and it stops beep.

Thanks again bro's
