Default Shipping Error

After all the problems with lifters, rocker arms, timing, etc... i brought my car into the GM dealer to have their mechanics takea look at it. They basically said I needed a new engine and they gave me prices on everything and I ended up ordering a brand new 305.

Well my parents had been taking care of most of the ordering and payments and I haven't had much contact with the GM dealer so when I went to pick it up today, the mechanic basically said, "Well I don't know what if your parents told you, but there was a slight shipping error and a 350 was shipped instead. I hope you don't mind. We still charged you the same amount."

Brand new engine, exhaust, and headers. Runs perfect.

1989 RS TBI 305 5.0L stock
350 5.7L Brand New
Edelbrock Shorty Headers
Flowmaster Exhaust w/ 80 Series Muffler
Magnaflow High Flow Catalytic Converter

It used to be that the 305 from the dealer cost more than the 350. Its worth checking out. You parents may have over paid and might be due some money back.

I will check into that. Thanks MadMike. I ended up paying $2000 for the engine straight from the dealer. Kind of overpriced because you can find much cheaper online, but GM won't install unless they order so I had no choice.

No such thing as shipping error (Dealer BS) you just got the standard replacement Goodwrench 350 that normalally runs around $1250. This 350 is a low output HP/TQ but better then the stock 305. Again NO error but a Dealer ripoff, in my opinion.

There are different 305s' and 350s' depending on application. Car or truck, early or late. You may be able to search online by the part number ( example; GM p/n 12486041) To see what you got. If you got a part number availible.
