Yeah doing CF isn't hard at all, it's a lot like making fiberglass pieces. You make a mold, lay the fabric, and apply epoxy/resin.

You can make CF pieces with epoxy that doesn't require heat, just air(like glue). But, I really can't speak as to how well that would work.

I hate cowl hoods in general. Also, it weighs a lot. Yeah, actually I was gonna go with a stock fiberglass hood.

you could also use plexiglass or lexan for windows. you may lose the ability of them to go up and down, but you could just make a slider in the middle if you want. that would cut off another 10 lbs each

If it was a 100% track car, I'd be thinking about that. Which isn't to say at some point in the future it won't. But, for now that's a little too hardcore for a DD, haha.

well if you hate Cowl hoods then your not my friend.......lol no seriously, i had an offer for factory fiberglass hood for $50, but chose another offer for a Cervini lift off cowl for $150 for the fact that i wanted my open element to be a little more "functional" than the stock hood could do(also i needed a little clearence)

you shouldnt have a problem finding one for around $50 in good condition

Did I understand you correctly that you can find used stock fiberglass hoods for 50 bucks? Good luck. Everything I find is either bent or cut up. Id LOVE to find a cheap cowl hood for under 100 bucks!
