Shaving weight from doors?
Yeah doing CF isn't hard at all, it's a lot like making fiberglass pieces. You make a mold, lay the fabric, and apply epoxy/resin.
You can make CF pieces with epoxy that doesn't require heat, just air(like glue). But, I really can't speak as to how well that would work.
I hate cowl hoods in general. Also, it weighs a lot. Yeah, actually I was gonna go with a stock fiberglass hood.

you could also use plexiglass or lexan for windows. you may lose the ability of them to go up and down, but you could just make a slider in the middle if you want. that would cut off another 10 lbs each

well if you hate Cowl hoods then your not my friend.......lol no seriously, i had an offer for factory fiberglass hood for $50, but chose another offer for a Cervini lift off cowl for $150 for the fact that i wanted my open element to be a little more "functional" than the stock hood could do(also i needed a little clearence)

I want to put an ls1 in so, in the long run I might just have to stick with it, but we'll see.
Ive never found a fiberglass cowl for under 100, i meant the stock fiberglass z28 hood(3rd gen)ive had many many offers over on tgo to get them for $50 in decent shape, jist needed aint
