S.e.s. light constant
Ok so i got this car as a gift and it needs a checkonly Smog.I got a 30 day temp on it ,so time is important .Got a constant S.E.S. light.[:@]
Pulled the codes >12 great its working
>32- egr
>34- map
Now i got a heilms manual Hence "it sounds like i know what im talking about".lol..
But if those two prob are here then why do i have a constant S.E.S.?
Or does it work that way?
Dosent that men im in a fail safe mode?
Car runs ...ok..but i notice when its hot and you shut her off it hesitates at idle afterwards(dies or sputters)

RE: S.e.s. light constant
Your Helm manual should have flow charts to diag those codes. Helm is the best and easy to use.
Check your vacuum hoses. There are some for the EGR that goes to a soleniod and vacuum source that could be rotted or eatten by varments. Also the same for the MAP.

Egr code Still there..Gotta check that .
I thought it was strange whenI 1st pulled 2 codes .
I fixed 1 prob cleared 2 codes? Didnt seem right to begin with .
So I will check it tomorrow and see what we got.
Why do people hate 305's?
And do I have to keep those Electric jets on my carb. Can I go total Efi?

Those jets are the fuel injectors. Its not a carb it is a throttle body. So yes you need to keep them.
The lights don't always stay on. they will go off and come on as the computer is running a test during a drive cycle.
Check for power in a pink wire on the egr solenoid. Just follow the hose off the egr to the solenoid. It should have volts and the computer gives the ground signal to the other wire. Maybe your egr is just bad. If you dont have a vacuum gauge to test it with remove the hose from it and try to push up on the plunger from the bottom side and plug the hole with your finger and see it the plunger stays up or leaks and comes down.
