If you are running that hot on the highway, I have one question.
Do you have the AIR DAM under the nose of the car??? If not, one of the reason for 230 deg temperature.

You can save the coolant and reuse it.

Gotta agree with this. The previous owner of my car put in a manual switch and I kept having problems until I ripped it out and went back stock.

another reason they run hot is for emissions. however, do not get the el cheapo rad from napa as it doesnt cool well. my stock rad was full of scale build up and was corroded like crazy. i swapped it for one from napa and saw an 10* increase of temps at highway speeds, and my fans would stay on all the time at low speed. the only worth while aftermarket rads are from companies such as griffin, desert cool, and be cool. you need to look at the specs for fins per inch, number of rows, and the overall core thickness

That is your problem with high temp on the highway. The Air Dam is a MAJOR & IMPORTANT part of the cooling system.

Try searching various 3rd gen parts sites including e-bay. Common replacement part.

Yeah I will look into one. I think I am just going to build the 305 up. I know everybody says just out in a 350 but I know a list of parts to make it put out about 325-235HP and thats all I need to have a lot of fun with.
