Default Removing EGR for new Carb

Does anyone know a step by step process on how to block off the EGR system for installing a aftermarket carb and manifold that are non EGR on a 5.0L 305?
I'm looking to get an Edelbrock 1406 carb and a 2101 intake manifold.
Any suggestions if this is even worth it to replace the stock carb and manifold set up on an '83 with this engine?

you just have to pinch them off until you put new exhaust. if you only improve air going in it's not gonna do much. you have to put better exhaust to see the gains. more air in ... more air out ... the faster you go. sick
