Default relocating the battery

I have an 89 RS. Which means the battery is up in the right front of the engine compartment. I might be buying a TPI setup and i would like to be about to run a cool air intake to it. But here inlies the problem. All intakes i find put the intake down in the spot where my battery sits... So i was thinking about maybe running the good ol battery to the back in that storage compartment... Has anybody else here done that? How hard would that be?

Well it is a good idea but when you relocate it make sure you have it secured in. Trust me I have had to deel with a badly secured batery before and its not good. My brothers Miata which comes stock with the battery in the trunk well when he replaced it they forgot to mount it right and the battery flipped over, shorted out and the car started on fire, so make sure that its secured and if not secured right make sure its not near the frame

if we are talking about on an 89 RS ... the spare tire compartment would be a nice comfortable place for a battery. the kit comes with about 15 ft of positive cable and 3 ft of ground i believe. if i was you i would pickup a cheap battery box at wally world. to prevent spillage and accidental grounding. sick
