I just bought a tack for my 2.8 v6 and was wondering where i should set the red line? I have it at 5.5 right now because that is where my friends v6 mustang redlines with the 5spd so i was just wondering if i should set it higher? It has an 8,000 band so i was just wondering, if anyone can help that would be cool

 

Find out at what RPM the engine produces peak power and set your red line about 500 RPM higher. Or speed up till the REV limiter kicks in and set it about 200 RPM below that point. You have to test the REV limiter on the road with the transmission in gear. Can't do it with the transmission in park or neutra because the computer will not allow more than about 4000 RPM in neutral

 

if ur running fac eng they redline or fac tac at 5.5 its pretty high to be shiftting i shift mine about 45 to 48 and i break the tire throu third gear. hope that helps CJ

 

Well i got it all set nicely. I redline right at about 6200 and that is peak power. Its pretty nice in my opinion
