i have a 89 rs 305 and it runs fine no problems but there is a very storng smell of raw fuel and it tends to seep into the car as m driving. i know this is a problem im just not sure exactly wut it is..i was thinking maybe the cat or a rich carb or exhaust leak but im not sure...i have very little experience in cars so any help is greatly apprecited.. thnx

 

check the fuel lines for leaks maybe?

 

I had the same problem for a while too...the choke wasn't functioning properly.

 

these problems are very common in camaros i also had this with my previously owned 94 camaro z28 check for leaks the vaccum canister and drain and flush the cooling system becasue it gives off that kind of smell.

 

k well ive been looking around the engine and im starting to think it is the choke becasue when my car starts it stays atarted for about 15 sec then dies out...im thinking that my choke is sticking and either flooding the carb or not allowing enuf fuel...im not quite sure how to fix this and id rather not go to a mechanic cuz i am trying to learn to work on it myself so iff some one could help me out a little on this fix i would appreciate it grealty
