I have a 91 Z28 that has a 305 tpi set up. The rear end is basically shot, has way too much slop and needs a rebuild. I have a parts car that has a 2.8 V6 in it, and was wondering if I could just swap that rear end into my z28 while I rebuild the other one and put a little taller gears in it. I don't know if they were the same rear end or if they put a stiffer one in the z's with a little higher gear. Mine right now has the 3.43 stock gears in it. Would anyone know the gears that are in the V6 one?

 

What year and tranny does the V6 car have???

Also typing error...I would say it is 3:42 and not 3:43......

 

The car is an 86 and the motor and tranny are stock

 

1986 V6 both auto/manual are 3:42 gear ratio & almost all are open rears.
