Default Question on interior removal.

So I have almost all of the interior pulled out of my IROC. My question is that I cannot figure out how to get the shifter column consol off. Remember this is my first time even messing with a car so be nice!

the actual face plate or the part thats goes down to the floor? if its the face plate then all you do is pop the shifter **** off (theres a tab on the front side of the shifter you need to pull out then that **** pops right off) then its just a matter of pulling out all of the screws. if its the piece that goes to the floor then i think theres bolts underneath the faceplate but im not sure

correct on the ****. when i did my interior i just used a flat head screwdriver and pried it out. it is pretty much just a staple holding it on. the thing to remember is to shift all the way into 1st before you start. that way you can pull out the deck and heater/cooling control to unplug the wires (might want to label them too). any other questions, just give a holler and i should be help out while its still fresh in my head.

Thanks man. Yeah, i couldn't find where it was attached so ill pry it off tonight. Im taking off the whole dash as well tonight but cant find all the bolts that attach it to whatever. I got most of them off now its a matter of finding where they are. Man! It sucks working on project cars and being a first timer! Lol..

So the tab just pulls right out? So then the **** should just slid right up? and yeah it does suck being a newbie on a resto car, im in the same boat as you. I got a 92 RS. And thats the first snag i hit in the 3 weeks ive been working on it. school cuts into that time a lot.
