Oil choice's

I'm guessing syndealer is an oil salesman....but here is what I use:
valvoline 5W-20 in my 10' 5.7 ram.
rotella 15W-40 in my 00' 318 ram.
valvoline 20-50racing in the Iroc.
castrol 20-50 in the 67 mustang.
Castrol 20-50 in my race bike, sometimes I'll use 10-40 in the winter, but in tucson, there isn't much of a winter. The bikes get changed every 1.5-2.5 hours of run time due to fuel dilution, and clutch disc fibers.

i have a better question, how come a substance that GETS THINNER WHEN HOT, is considered to be thicker when heated??? If someone that works or has expierence in the multi-grade oil trade could please anwser this question i would be very happy. I am going to use penziol 30w detergent. I would like to run non-detergent but hydrualic lifters don't agree with it. not 5w-30, 30w

because if you run a straight weight, it thins as it gets hot. multigrade will have the consistancy of 5 weight when cold (thats what the w in 5w-30 stands for, winter i.e. cold), but at 180-200 degrees when the engine is hot, is has the consistancy of 30 weight oil to keep oil pressure up. very simple, just read the bottle
