Default Odometer

I'm buying a 87 with "71000.0" for $1000
I was wondering, this car only has a odometer for XX,XXX miles? So if it has XXX,XXX miles it would just roll over?
Because there are only has five black digits and one white one.

I have no way of telling if I am buying a 71,000 or 171,000 or 271,000 etc...

Thanks!

You will have to run a title checkfor the mileage the last time it was sold. I only have 3195 miles on my 87 and I am the orignal owner. Five digits on the odometer will do that.

i think that if the numbers dont line up, then its rolled over 100,000. mine has 29,000 original miles, and all of them line up straight (first 2000 were from 2 military owners, 23,000 from previous owner, and 4,000 from me)

The 1's the 10's the 100's...are constantly rolling over just the thousands and tenthousands digits are doing the same things as the others. I was the second owner of my 84 with 5x,xxx miles on it and watched the numbers start to go out of alignment as I drove it before it rolled. My 91 has the 100,000 and they are not lined up perfect.
Like what was said you will have to do your research or just not swaet it
