You do not say what engine you have. Regardless the best would be Headers & 3" In & Out Cat and 3" Catback exhaust (mandrel bent pipes). This would be a start without going to engine internals.

I had an 86 IROC...305 TPI right? theres a lot of stuff you can do. First thing I did was slap on cat back flowmaster american thunder 80 series...it sounded disgusting. Get a bigger throttle body..definately headers like blackz said...I mean it all depends on how much money/work you wanna do...you can take off that stock intake and put in a cold air...oh by the way dude, if you wanna invest in something not so expensive but cool (not performance, just cool) slap on some gabriel adjustable air shocks on the back...pump that **** up and it looks nasty riding down the street.

hell ya the air shocks are bad..but a pain to replace when u pop the bag inside of it...oh and if u want to do that find a way to hook a compresser to the shocks so u dont have to air them up ur self its just a flip of a switch and push of a botten
