First of all, 3.73 is the ratio. The drive shaft has to turn 3.73 times to rotate the axle once. 7.5" is the diameter of the ring gear and 10 bolt is TECHNCIALLY how many bolts hold the carrier to the ring gear. But it also works how many bolts hold the diff cover on.

depends on the engine. if you RS came equipped with a V-8 it has a series two carrier and you will need a spacer for 3.73 gears or a series 3 carrier. if it came equipped with a V-6 it has a series 3 carrier and no spacer will be needed. Sick

No offense to you, but from the sound of it, unless you don't mind having the car off the road for a while, you may be better off taking it to a pro to have the job done. I speak from experience here. Took me about a month of saturdays to get mine done. Mostly since I had no way of getting the new bearings on the new pinion shaft or the carrier. You'll need access to a hydraulic press for said operations, and most backyard mechanics haven't got one. If you should decide to do it at home, there are plenty of people on here who've done this job, and most of us would be glad to assist. From a distance, where we don't have to smell gear oil.
