Default V8 Conversion

Im new to the camaro scene, and I just bought a new 1990 RS with a v6 engine. I got the v6 engine out and I want to put a 350 sb in. Will the front end be able to support the weight difference of a bigger engine. Also, does anyone know the best manual transmission to drop in for mild street racing, maybe a little bit better then mild. I have heard a lot of controversy on T5's and how they tend to be broken easily, especially by careless youngsters like myself. If anyone knows what kind of upgrades i should make i would greatly appreciate it.

You will need to upgrade to v8 springs in the front and probably a thicker swaybar to handle body roll with the extra weight. I don't know much about the T5, but, I heard it was a fairly good trans. could check out 5speeds.com they may have something for you.

Im doing the same thing as you to an 85, just dont forget to change the engine mounts, bolt inplace of the v6 mounts. for a decent trans im going to be using a 700R4 trans or a turbo 350, or a turbo 400, i suggest a turbou 350 or 400

depends on if he wants performance or if this is gonna be a weekend driver, in my opinion 700R4's are good transmissions for daily drivers or weekend drivers, but if ya want stomp the pedal the 350turbo is the way to go.

you're going to need a different drive shaft. unless the v8 is new, then hopefully you plan on doing some sort of work on the motor.
