New Brakes

New Brakes
The rear drum brakes on my 91 RS have about 5 % left on them and I was wondering if I should swap to rear disc or just get better drums. The front discs have about 85% left on them. What do you guys think would be better? Also if I did get rear discs, would i have to get equivalent new brakes in the front? I could spend anywhere from $600-$850; Are ther any good kits that are that cheap. Even a Junkyard might have something. Right?

RE: New Brakes
You are not going to see thst much difference by replcing rear drums with disks. The reason that they are worn out is that no one bothered to replace the rear shoes when the front pads were changed. Rear brakes usually outlast the front brakes by a large margin because they have much less work to do. If you swap, there is more involved than just bolting up a set of brakes from another car. You are going to redo the psrking brske cabling, change proportionong valves, & probably some other stuff.
The front and rear brakes have to be a matched set, otherwise the end with too much braking power will lock up & cause a skid.
