Need some advice
posted a while back about an 86 camaro iroc-z
I'm looking to swap the motor out for a 350, but I wanna stay with TPI or get an LT1 conversion kit
I'm also wanting to get a posi gear setup with a decent gear ratio
this was the mtor recommended to me
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...0763&langId=-1
is that what I need, is there a better block style I can get or anything?

RE: Need some advice
That is a good solid engine. It has 4-bolt mains which you want - it will take some good mods down the road. That is a fairly good price. You would not be making a mistake. Realize there are 350 crate engines available for more $$ that produce more HP (i.e., the ZZ355, the ZZ383) but this is a good deal and will premit you to do your own mods down the road. Good choice.

RE: Need some advice
That motor is crap for you.
1st of all its for 75-85 applications, and you have an 86 , and it wont bolt up to your trans, its a diff block style
2nd it's set up for a carb.
3rd it makes no power
I got one from this company http://www.fivestarengines.com/
It has 350hp 4 bolt main and is .40 over, but either way they have a motor that will fit your need.
You can even call them and they will customize it to fit your application, and they paint it any color you want and shipping is fast and the warrenty is good, mine runs mint good luck

I dont see how this motor would'nt bolt up, as long as the trans is a chevy bell hosing not the BOP it will bolt right in.now unless you're replacing a 2.8 or 3.1 you should have chevy bell housing.

RE: Need some advice
I have swaped out my 305 for a 355 roller cam one peace rear main motor in my 92,i believe its for a 87 up. Used my complete tpi intake still speed dencity and my T5 trans bolted right up.I'm still running the 305 E-prom.The motor runs great from idle right up to 4500 rpm with gobbs of tire smoking torque.but runs out of breath after the 4500 which I think once a new chip is programed it should make more horse power
