Need info on 3rd gen camaros
Hi - I am new to the forum and interested in buying an 87 - 92 camaro. What are the pros / cons to the v6/v8, fuel injected vs. carbs, z28 vs. rs, etc. Any info would be greatly appreciated as I begin my search for my new camaro. I am mainly interested in the 91 or 92, but am unsure about getting a t top, convertible, or hardtop. What are some of the issues / problems I should be looking for or avoiding? Thanks in advance!
Well, a lot of these questions can only be answered by you as they are personal preference.
I have no problems with carbs as they are a breeze to work on/rebuild and of course I would vote for a V-8 over the V-6. (Power ALWAYS over MPG)
T-tops, convertable, hardtop?
You can run the risk of leaks with all 3...even a hardtop can leak if things aren't sealed up tight around doors and glass.
Look at several cars (if you have that chance) and buy the one that suits you. No doubt you will doing mods and changes to it to make it your own.

Get the cleanest one you can find. Rust = a lot of $. Other than that it is personal preference. If you go 88 to 92 they are only FI. 87 is the last year of the qjet. That carb isn't really easy to work on at least compared to edelbrock, holley, etc. A lot more parts.
