1992 z28
Does anybody know the size/ratio that would come with this??

Probably 3.42-1. If not it a 3.08-1.

What engine & tanny info would help. Only 10-bolt ratios offered were 2:73, 3:23 & 3:42 and the limited slip was a option G80 is the RPO.

well the z28 came with the 350-700r4 and the posi rearend

With that info, you have a 3:23 ratio and 7.625 dia ring gear. Thats all that was stock for the 350TPI.

To make really sure, pull the rear cover and count the theet on the ring & pinion gears and do the math, the pinion may even be stamped with the ratio. Also a good excuse for changing the rear end lube.

do the math like pete said but he forgot to say the equation.

count the teeth on the ring gear, and count the teeth on the pinion

divde the number of teeth on the ring gear by the number of teeth on the pinion

#of ring gear teeth divided by # of pinion teeth

All Gear & Pinion sets regardless of MFG have the gear ratio stamped on the gear OD. So it a easy way instead of counting the gear teeth. Because sometime people can't count over ten using the hand computer.[sm=chairshot.gif]
