Mice In My Cluster

I figured it was the connection between the cable and the speedometer. Anyway, I wound up making it worse because now instead of just squeaking, it dings and squeaks. (The speedometer cable-thing now hits the speedometer's rear cylindrical housing). My tripometer also is messed up. Instead of just turning one numerical, it turns all of them. For example, instead of reading .4, it reads 4444. I'll have to work on this tomorrow. I'm pooped.

Anyone have any pictures or directions about how to disconnect it from the transmission?? Will that give me enough slack to pull it through a few inches???
