He asked an opinion, and I gave mine. Its not the only opinion in the world, but since I've been doing the resto for about 9 months now, I've run into just about everything imagineable. No, I don't want to spend a fortune on a car, but I wanted it to be right and not have to do it again. I did a lot stupid things on other cars I've had and it bit each and everytime, I just didn't want it to happen to me again or anyone else. Good luck with whatever option you choose.

you dont read well do you i also said it depends on what motor he wants to put in the car such as an lt1 from a caprice would take alot more work cause of the ac compressor being in the way of the k member i can go on all day bout what it takes to do this and that swap and all the wiring involved i just wanted him to understand a v6 to a v8 swap takes work ive seen several of your replies in here talking bout all your body work it doesnt seem to me like hes looking for that much he just wants a project not a full resto most of these cars can be done without the extensive work your doing its all up to the person doing the work to me it doesnt sound like hes looking to rip the whole car apart and parts really arent that hard to find when you have craigslist and pick and pull lots really the only thing u need to buy new these days is weld in sheet metal and carpet most everything else can be found online and may take a little driving to get for a good price i got my car for 500 with no major rust issues and only damage is to bolt on panels easy work and yea im going to paint my car but im not going into all the detail you are cause my cars going to be a daily drive by the way what you are stating is your opinion as to what needs done and to an extent of what you think needs done to his car have you seen the car hes looking at prolly not so you really dont know what it would take to get his car looking nice do you your just stating what your doing and everytime he says something u come back with look at what im doing this is what im doing look at my 10k in body work im glad in this economy someone has that kinda money to throw around cause most of us dont

2nd post is even better....
Look I gave him a breakdown to let him know it isn't cheap. That is why I've been waiting nearly ten years to do anything with this car; I bought it when I was 16 for 2500, I parked it in 98 when I went to college and waited till january this year to start working on it. I too thought it was going to be easy to do a swap and just buff out some rust throw on some paint and bam, new car. No, I didn't have to go to the extremes, but since I waited so long, I figured why not? I sold one of my race bikes for basically the body work. I just didn't want to have to redo something 6 months down the line because I took an easy or cheap way out.
That is why I joined this forum in the first place, to hear others opinions on my ideas or questions, and for the most part I've gotten very good advice, and I try to do the same if someone asks a question I feel I know enough to comment about. Like I posted earlier, best of luck to him and anyone else that takes on a project, especially now.

for v6 to v8 youll need to get the v8 motor mounts the v8 a trans to match radiator hoses and belts and other odds and ends wiring and drive shaft the best i could say is if you can get it for 200-300 and the bodys pretty sound then go for it but even 450 isnt bad for a project also do some research the swap isnt impossible but does need work do the research and see if its something you would be into doing it heres a link to some info https://camaroforums.com/forum/82-92-general-10/faq-read-first-l-4-v6-v8-swap-info-1229/
