Question Looking for advice on a chevy truck > manual 92 RS trade

Hi all, I currently have an offer to trade my 2003 Silverado 1500HD LS trim (6.0 LQ4 with 4l80e trans) with 213k miles (good shape other then some rusted rocker panels and a finnicky gas gauge and unpainted driver fender), for a 1992 Camaro RS hard top manual transmission, and windows (ac is currently dead on it but still hooked up, gas gauges doesnt work at all and in full exterior primer) 109k original miles with the lower tier 305 v8.

its seems like fully restored 3rd gen Camaros are going up in price while my truck is pretty stagnant now that the used vehicle market is starting to taper a bit for older model trucks, but currently i would estimate the two vehicles to be pretty similar in market price from what i have found in my area in their current states with my truck slightly more.

I was hoping to get some opinions on if this sounds like a decent trade to you longtime Camaro owners? I have always loved the body style of the 3rd gen and do not currently have any use for such a large truck. (i have 2 other vehicles to drive so this isn't going to be for an every day car just a fun project and maybe a few cars and coffees) I just wanted to see if my assumptions on worth were correct and i wouldnt be shooting myself in the foot with a flat trade?

Thanks all for the feedback.

appreciate all any feedback.

Seams like a reasonable trade,a v8 Camaro should keep going up in value but then again from what I've seen so are older trucks.
The new market outrageous prices are driving up all used vehicles, older trucks that aren't all computer controlled are going crazy up.
I'd say if it's what you want go for it since it's already a v8 car there's not the headaches involved in trying to swap a v8 into a v6 car.

This is a 3rd gen so swapping a V8 in there is not much different than doing in a 80's car. Its the 4th gens that are a problem. Is the Silverado a 5.3? Is the 4L80e for a rear wheel drive or 4 wheel drive.

The 5.3 is not a bad motor. With the right cam and headers and a good tune it can hit 400-425 HP without much trouble. It is common to get near 500 out of one with the right heads and intake and injectors. Of course, the same is true for the Lq9. With 213K on the clock the motor could be OK but the trans should have been rebuilt once by now. If not it will need it soon. 4L80's are very strong transmission but when they fail it tend to be a hydraulic issue that allows the trans to burn itself up.
